“ We visited quite late when there were only a few diners. The food we received was fresh. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. My wife commented the egg drop soup was excellent. The sesame tofu was extremely crispy without being burnt, which we really enjoyed. We all enjoyed their food, even my picky son, who went with beef lo mein and egg fried rice. ”
“ Good ambiance for a large area. Had been a staple when living in Dubuque, and on our return visit, it was lacking. One dish tasted like a citrus was in the sauce and not expected. A chicken dish had pieces fried in a breading that was mushy and chicken chewy. Food rating of 4 based on past experiences but would have been a 2 based on this visit only. The server was good and efficient, didn't need to ask for more water, checked back multiple times, and would have been rated a 5. I suggest paying as you leave. I paid the server with cash and was expecting change, so I had some smaller bills to make a tip. The server was not seen again, so they got all the change, which made for a very large tip of 50%. Had to ask someone else for to go boxes. It was good service, but not that good, thus the 3. You just don't keep someone's change. ”
“ I have been coming here since I was a kid. Best egg rolls, crab rangoons and egg drop soup in town by far. The inside of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing as well. Wish they still had their buffet. Let's start a petition to bring it back ”
“ September 21st, my wife and I stopped here on another day date and it’s been awhile since we had the H.O.C. and it was ”
“ Food was good, service was good and the place was clean, but the soup and dish was only warm. The egg rolls and crab Rangoon were the only food that was actually hot. ”
“ Had the family dinner for 3 meal. Came with 2 wonton and a egg rolls per person. Got the mandarin meal, which came with 3 courses and rice. As well as egg drop soup. Got a side order of hot and sour soup. Both were phenomenal!!!! Are waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall experience for price and food made this a 10/10! ”
“ The egg drop soup was the best I ever had, full of vegetables with delicious broth. The hot & sour was on the spicy side but delicious. The house special fried rice was friendly to my mother's reduced sodium diet and it was delicious. The other dish we ordered was chicken with Chinese vegetables. It was lightly sauced with non salty but flavorful sauce. The decorations were outstanding. My father and I took pictures of the lapidary artwork and traditional watercolor paintings. Complimentary oolong tea is served in a pot on the table. The bathrooms are very clean smelling like bleach. Which is the only smell I want in a bathroom. Staff was friendly and attentive without hovering. My family enjoyed their first visit and look forward to the next. ”
“ Family has been coming here for a very long time. Like a different time/place......from the parking lot to the inside decor, it's like a time capsule from the 1980s. Ordered takeaway this last time for five people, and it was the first time being back in several years, but the service was great, and the food was awesome......still my favorite egg rolls from a Chinese restaurant....only critique is that the crab rangoons could have had more cream cheese :) ”
